ABOUT OUR TRAINERS

 

Andrew Brown

Our Blackfox trained and certified Master IPC Trainer, Andrew, has been involved in the Electronics Industry since the late 1970s.

Andrew has worked in a variety of roles, including as Bench Service Technician at Radio Shack, Field Service Technician for an electronics capitol equipment supplier, and as a Pace Incorporated Workshop Trainer, among others. He has successfully trained students in many countries including Australia, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, UK, and the USA.

Andrew is a full time Trainer with Chemtools, and works on demand as a Blackfox MIT when required.

 

Mark Smith

Our Certified IPC Trainer, Mark, has worked in a variety of roles in the Electronics Industry for over 20 years, including in the role of Bench Service Technician, and Field Service Technician.

Mark is now a fully certified IPC Trainer with Chemtools, and teaches the IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A, IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721, and ESD courses.

IN ADDITION TO IPC CERTIFICATION, WE ALSO OFFER THE FOLLOWING HALF/FULL DAY SOLDERING COURSES:

  • Production Assembly Line – Improve your technician’s basic skill sets to improve their speed and quality of hand solder joints.
  • Rework and Repair – Improve your technician’s skills in reworking and repairing PCB’s, whether it be basic soldering equipment knowledge, proper use of equipment, or right up to track level repair.
  • Lead Free Training Courses – If your facility is moving towards lead free, technicians will need training to bring them up to speed on the differences between leaded and lead free alloys and how each solders differently.
  • ESD Training – Is your workplace not taking electrostatic discharge seriously? We provide the necessary training to improve your work area and create an ESD-free environment.
  • Hot Air and Infrared Rework – Working more and more surface mount components and BGAs? We offer custom training courses to suit your needs for successful removal and reflow of surface mount components.
  • Wave Soldering Machine and SMT Oven Profiling (at your facility)

All students that attend and complete courses are supplied with the relevant certification based on the chosen course type: IPC Certification if choosing an IPC Certified Course, or a Soldering Certificate of Completion supplied by Chemtools.
